The city centre of Copenhagen boasts over 90 different places to
choose from, and these range from Youth hostel status to apartments
as well as 5star deluxe hotels. The city is on the up and many new
hotels near the harbour are being constructed and are due to be
finished very soon. There are also many hotels and hostels around
the suburbs and would be near to attractions like Denmark's Aquarium,
the Deer Park, Bakken, and Bellevue Beach, whilst most of southern
hotels are dotted around the coastline.
In Copenhagen, the main centre has three important streets for
hotels, Vester Voldgade, Helgolandsgade and Colbjornsensgade.
This area is chocker block full of hotels. The hotels and motels
on Vester Voldgade are ideal for placing the tourist in the middle
of all the happening and cool places in the city, such as between
Stroget, Tivoli, and Radhuspladsen (the Town Hall), with loads of
department stores and shopping arcades along with cinemas and leisure
facilities.
Helgolandsgade and Colbjornsensgade are just off Istedgade which
is only a couple of minutes from the Central Station. Istegade is
now well cleaned up and rejuvenated in the last couple of years,
and is now littered with fine hotels.
Many of the city central hotels would be located on Vesterbrogade
which runs further onto Frederiksberg and over past the Zoo. There
are very posh hotels on this strip, as well as at Vesterport. The
district around Kongens Nytorv and Nyhavn has also some great hotels
along with 4 star hotels.
For cheap accommodation check out the central hostels. There is
about 3 or 4 hostels in the centre of the city and some of them
are open 12 months per year and is great value for the backpacker.
On Amager, what is particularily famous is its exclusive casino,
which is also not far from the airport and the area has rather good
accommodation. So in Copenhagen you have a great choice to choose
from when it comes to accommodation. Hope you enjoy!
