DISTRICTS OF COPENHAGEN PART II

ISLANDS BRYGGE
This place is on the way up with its stylish galleries, and cafes.

VESTERBRO
known as the old queen of the Copenhagen boroughs. Although recently cleaned up, the area has its erotic shops as well as prostitutes and junkies and despite ongoing attempts to revive the spot, the area still needs help. Its nightlife consists of the Vega Nightclub, cafes Hoegs and Bang&Jensen are the main meeting spots for the locals.

FREDERIKSBERG
This is considered a city in its own right. and is surrounded by Copenhagen on all sides, and it still maintains its own independence. There is a certain Parisian feel to Frederiksberg which many tourists find charming. Its more a residential area, where middle class over 40s live. Lots of good restaurants, wineries, tailors etc. are found here. There is a beautiful park here with Kobenhaven’s Zoo in it.

NYRREBRO
This is one of the most colourful and ethnically diverse areas of Copenhagen and is very safe for the tourist to walk around. A walk around Norrebrogade is great if you want to go sight seeing. There is also a lovely park there to have your picnic, and Hans Christian Andersen is buried in the old cemetery nearby. Blagardsgade is great for bargains. Cool clubs in the area like Stalingrad, Rust and late night bars such as Barcelona are great for a bright night out.

NYRREVOLD
Norrevold stretches along Soerne on the city side, and it looks like the outer boroughs but its really its own district. Nansensgade is a cool place to hang out and great for alternative shopping opportunities. but avoid H.C. yrstedsparken at night.
