FREDERIKSBERG
The Parisian style part of Copenhagen has many theatres and the
bars and restaurants come alive just when the shows end. Kellerdirk
and Promenaden are very popular restaurants in this area and
are located at Frederiksbergs Alle. La Buca, or Fiasco are Italian
eateries in this part of town, and the French restaurant L’Olivier
is well recommended. One can also dine in Frederiksbergs Gardens
at La Gastronomique or else try the Tunisian restaurant called
the Princess Dining house.
CHRISTIANSHAVN AND CHRISTIANIA ON HOLMEN
The London inspired restaurant named Base Camp which transforms
into a nightclub later on in the night is worth a visit and is
nestled in among the old military warehouses. At Thorsen restaurant,
there is a great view of the Waterfront and one can enjoy their
tapas here. One can savour modern Scandinavian cuisine at the
Loppen which is very popular as well as Morgen Stjernen which
is a big hit with the locals at Christiania.
Christanshavn is full of restaurants, cafes and bars. The Era Ora
is a popular Italian restaurant and the Kanalen and also Bastionen & Loven
have great French cuisine.
PISSERENDEN
The posh shopping district is loaded with cafes, bars and restaurants
and one can have a bite to eat at the Atlas Bar, or at the Flyvefisken
one can enjoy Thai treats, while Sabines Cafetaria is still one
of the most authentic and popular cafes in Copenhagen.
FREDERIKSSTADEN
Top class restaurants are on this side of town. It is more tranquil
here and a few metres away from the little Mermaid, is the great
Langelinie Paviolion, where one will buy quality food for good
prices. The Kartoteket draws a lot of students, and the Lai Hoos
Cantonese Kitchen is where Princess Alexandra’s favourite
restaurant is. The Sommelier is a lovely wine bar that lies on
Bredgade and the KGB restaurant and Vodka Bar will dish up some
caviar along with your Russian vodka.
NORREVOLD
This area is cool, trendy and a happening place to hang out. The
fashionable cafe such as Bankerat is Nansensgades coolest cafe.
The Spanish restaurant of El Peron has great Mediterranean food,
Summer evenings are spent in the HC yrstedsparken at Hacienda
sitting in the sun and knocking back Swedish cider.
INNER CITY COPENHAGEN
World class restaurants like the Kommandanten has two Michelen
stars for its French food, while the Restaurantionen and the
Pierre Andre on Ny ystergade have succeeded in a one star. The
Zoo bar is popular with shoppers and students go to the Student
House and the jazz lovers go to La Fontaine, while the media
freaks lounge around NASA, and the upwardly mobile meet at the
SAS Royal Cocktail bar. Take your pick in wonderful Copenhagen.
